What do you do during a Psychologist Therapy Session?
During these sessions, patients and caretakers would either meet the doctor, for an Autism Disorder Observation Session. To get a proper and formal diagnoses for future schooling and financial assistance, with the government or other affiliated associations.
Another possible session a doctor would have with their patient is a Consultations or Assessments (ADOS). Usually for children before they enter Primary school.
With that doctors would gauge whether the child falls under the Autism Disorder Spectrum, or not. With these findings, caretakers could make the proper arrangements for other therapies which would cater to their child’s needs better, with the assessment.
What is ADOS?
Parents whom usually arrive here, would more or less, are aware of their child’s needs. during this phase, a child would go through a more formal assessment. As this give them an official document by Psychologist to apply for caretaker aid for their child.
What to expect during your first ADOS?
- Observe your child’s behaviour using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).
- Interview you to understand your child’s development from young and his/ her behaviours in everyday situations.
